Playful Kids

Last night, hubby, me and Symone went to my niece's 12th birthday party. We had dinner there with some friends. Symone had a great time with Ashley, Daphne's sister and Symone's best friend. We went home at 12 midnight and Symone was so tired that soon after her shower she went to bed and sleep. When we arrived home, Liam was sleeping already. I missed my son and if only I can wake him up, i definitely would.

Today, my kids were so busy playing. My Symone played with her bike while my son Liam was so busy diving her little toy car. They were so eager to race each other. I am so happy seeing them playing happily together so I grabbed the camera and took some pictures of my two lil naughty kids.

Mommy Moments - Name Game

mommy moments

Here's a little story about my kids name......

My daughter's name is ELAIZAH SYMONE

Elaizah- Hubby and I got it from my sister's name ELLA and my grandmother's name Eliza

Symone- It's a name I always wanted since I was in high school. I told myself that when the time comes that I will be having a daughter, I will name her SYMONE and thank God I remembered the name just before I gave birth

My son's name is LIAM XYMONE

Liam- from the actor Liam Neeson. I love the name! I searched the meaning and found some infos about it....
This name is a short form of the Irish name Uilliam (William) which is now use independently as a given name. As a Hebrew name, Liam means "my people; I have a nation".

Famous bearers include 'Oasis' singer Liam Gallagher, former Irish Taoiseach or Prime Minister Liam Cosgrave and actor Liam Neeson.

Liam is currently a particularly popular name in New Zealand (#10 in 2006), the Australian states of South Australia and Western Australia (#7 in both in 2006) and the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia (#5), Alberta (#8) and British Columbia (#6).

Xymone - got it from my eldest name. hubby just changed the S from X to make it more unique

Mommy Moments - Rain Rain Go Away

mommy moments

My second time with Mommy Moments and I am really enjoying it. This week's theme is Rain Rain Go Away....

The photos were taken last January this year. My sister Ella and Symone having fun in the rain. I can say that Symone had a real good time playing in the rain. This is a very rare moment since my sister Ella is working abroad. Ella will be going back home this December and I know that Symone is excited to see her favorite "tita" again.

Anyway, my son Liam was sick during that time so he cannot join her Tita Ella and Ate Symone, poor little boy.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Tips On How To Deal With Diaper Rash

My son Liam, who is now 18 months old, is still wearing disposable diapers. This morning, when I was changing his diaper I noticed some rashes on his diaper area. I applied some hydro-cortisone ointment right away to prevent the rashes to get worse.

I read some information on how to prevent diaper rashes and tips to treat it.

How to prevent and treat diaper rash?

The key to prevent and treat diaper rash is to keep your baby's diaper area clean, cool and dry. Change your baby's diaper often, and let him or her go without a diaper when needed. This lets the air dry his or her skin.

You might try placing your baby on an open cloth diaper during naptime. Check the diaper shortly after your baby falls asleep and replace it if it's wet. Babies often void (pee) right after falling asleep.

See below for other tips on how to prevent and treat diaper rash. If these things don't work, talk to your doctor. Your doctor may suggest using hydrocortisone cream for a short while.

Don't use creams that contain boric acid, camphor, phenol, methyl salicylate or compound of benzoin tincture. These things can be harmful. You can use a barrier cream to help protect your baby's skin.

Tips to prevent and treat diaper rash

Check your baby's diaper every hour and change it often-as soon as it's wet or soiled.
Clean your baby's bottom at each diaper change. Use plain warm (not hot) water with or without a very mild soap.
Allow your baby's skin to dry before putting on a clean diaper.
Use zinc oxide ointment (some examples are Zincofax, Penaten Cream, Zinaderm, Desitin Diaper Rash Ointment, Prevex-Baby Diaper Rash Cream) or petroleum jelly (an example is Vaseline) to protect your baby's skin from moisture.
Avoid using plastic pants.
Change the type of wipes, diapers or soap you're using.
If you use cloth diapers, try boiling them for 15 minutes after you wash them to get all of the soap and germs out.

I just hope this information will help all those mommies out there who are now having problems with diaper rashes.

Tuesday Tip Jar

My daughter loves to watch TV. She love to watch cartoons on different channels. I am starting to worry about her and her TV habits. I searched the net and found this tip which can help me lessen Symone's time in front of the TV.

Give children a small sum over their regular allowance. Each time they watch a television show, charge them a nickel. They'll select their programs more carefully.

I'll keep you guys posted if this tip will help me with Symone.... Have a nice week ahead guys! :D

2 More Days

Symone's exam will be up until Friday so it means she still has 2 days more to study and review. Symone is sleeping now and I can say that she was so tired this noon. We studied for more than 2 hours for her exam tomorrow. I told her that as a reward to her, we will be going out on Saturday and Sunday. I told her that Daddy and I will be buying her super favorite Vanilla Frappe at Starbucks. She told me that she is so excited and she promised me to do good on her exams. I trust my daughter and I know that she will get good grades this quarter.

On the other hand, my son Liam never fails to amuse us everyday. He is so cute and we can't help but to adore him. He can now make funny faces and he can call us whenever he needs us. He loves to watch his favorite noontime show and can even say the title of the show... WOWOWEE... hahaha!

Happy Weekend!

My kids and I are now at home. Hubby is still at the office and will be home for dinner. Symone will be having her first quarter examinations on Monday so as early as last night I started to review her.

My son Liam is starting to be talkative. He can now say Daddy, Mommy, Lola, Mimi and many more. He can now say Dede if he wants his milk. He is a very active little boy. He love to watch Mr. Bean, Elmo's World and Play with me Sesame.

I am so happy that these past few months my kids are healthy. I have no problems or whatsoever with them.

Tomorrow is Sunday so our plans include going to church in the morning and going to the mall with the kids in the afternoon.

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYBODY!
